Great Quality of Play in Playoffs and Consolation Finals of 18's

On Saturday Marek Czerwinski had run into top-seeded Treat Huey at his best, but today Marek brought his best to the court to face Florida's Jean Yves Aubone. Jean Yves had split sets with soon-to-be champion Daniel Yoo, so both young men knew this match would be a battle.

Marek looked shaky and was broken three (3) times in the first set -- with Aubone taking it 6-2. But Marek seemed to gain confidence and hit much stronger and deeper shots, coming in when Aubone was on the defense.

Aubone's groundstrokes became shorter as the match went on, and Marek took advantage of every opening, taking the match 2-6,7-5,6-4.

The consolation final pitted Timothy Smyczek against Andrew Orban. This match was never close, as Smyczek brought his "A" game, and took 5th place by a score of 6-2,6-0.
